A Fleet Insurance Policy is defined as business insurance for a group of several vehicles that can include various types of commercially used vehicle. Some fleets will consist partly or wholly of private cars, however most will be dominated by working commercial vehicles; these may range from pedestrian controlled vehicles EG. milk floats to 40-ton trucks or to special vehicles, such as mobile cranes, tankers, buses and coaches.

 

What distinguishes a fleet insurance policy from simple insurance for a collection of vehicles, is that the fleet policy premium will depend partly or wholly on the past experience of that fleet as a whole.
